Thank you. The loss of pets is a strange and singular kind of grief: we are expected to outlive them, yet the depth of the loss is so much more than we often care to acknowledge. They are family members and kin for whom there are few, if any, culturally-normalised rituals of grieving, at least in the West. But we are getting better at it.
